The New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry (NSWIOP) was commissioned by NSW Health to prepare and deliver training to Local Health Districts (LHDs) and Specialty Networks (SNs) in applying the legislative and regulatory requirements of the Mental Health Act 2007 and the 2015 amendments.

This website and associated resources have been prepared by NSWIOP and are readily available to staff across the health service system.

In addition, NSWIOP has delivered intensive and targeted training to Mental Health service providers and other stakeholders across NSW based on needs identified by LHDs and SNs, focussing on the practical application of the Mental Health Act 2007 and the 2015 amendments.
